Les agriculteurs peinaient \u00e0 obtenir des rendements satisfaisants et \u00e0 tirer un b\u00e9n\u00e9fice \u00e9conomique de la culture du ni\u00e9b\u00e9 sur des sols infest\u00e9s. Cette situation est en train de changer gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019introduction de <strong>SAMPEA 21 (IT13K-1308-5)<\/strong>, une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 perc\u00e9e de l'IITA d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e en partenariat avec l'Institut de Recherche Agricole (IAR), Samaru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SAMPEA 21 m\u00fbrit t\u00f4t (en 72 \u00e0 76 jours), produit des rendements \u00e9lev\u00e9s (jusqu'\u00e0 2,5 tonnes \u00e0 l'hectare) et montre <strong>r\u00e9sistance exceptionnelle au Striga<\/strong>, et la s\u00e9cheresse. Les agriculteurs d\u00e9crivent cela comme un \u201c changement de donne \u201d, combinant une valeur marchande \u00e9lev\u00e9e avec un risque de production r\u00e9duit.<em>\u201c Avant SAMPEA 21, je r\u00e9coltais peu \u00e0 cause de la Striga. Maintenant, j'obtiens jusqu'\u00e0 12 sacs par hectare et les acheteurs viennent chercher mon grain. \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
