This involves putting in place policies formulated with knowledge from scientific evidence  and which adequately address gender issues, when determining climate-smart practices.\n\nThe members will agree on the working modalities of the alliance  and how it will:\n<ul>\n \t<li>Raise awareness on climate change policy issues.<\/li>\n \t<li>Share practices on engaging multi-stakeholders in natural resource management.<\/li>\n \t<li>Share evidence on changing climate in Ug anda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nThe alliance is an initiative of the Policy Action for Climate Change Adaptation (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.iita.org\/tag\/pacca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PACCA<\/a>) project. PACCA aims to influence  and link policies  and institutions from national to local level for the development  and adoption of climate-resilient food systems through the integration of the scientific community with policy actors.\n\nThe project forms a crucial part of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture  and Food Security (<a href=\"https:\/\/ccafs.cgiar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CCAFS<\/a>) policies  and institution research work in East Africa  and is led by IITA.\n\u201cBy initiating this learning alliance, PACCA is providing a platform for harmonizing, coordinating,  and consolidating efforts across different sectors  and actors to ensure that research evidence is put to full use to influence policy formulation  and implementation processes,\u201d says Edidah Ampaire, PACCA Project Coordinator based at IITA-Ug anda.\n\nThis unique alliance brings together various stakeholders that include research bodies, climate change focal ministries, NGO consortiums, media houses, youth groups,  and other entities relevant in influencing policy decision making.\n\nOther key PACCA partners include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilri.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut international de recherche sur l'\u00e9levage (ILRI)<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bioversityinternational.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bioversity International<\/a>, le <a href=\"http:\/\/ciat.cgiar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Center for Tropical Agriculture<\/a>,  and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldagroforestry.org\/\">World Agroforestry Centre<\/a>.
