L'Institut international d'agriculture tropicale (IITA) et l' <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimmyt.org\/\">Centre international d'am\u00e9lioration du ma\u00efs et du bl\u00e9<\/a> r\u00e9cemment lanc\u00e9 un projet qui vise \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les moteurs et les obstacles \u00e0 l'adoption de l'agriculture de conservation (AC) en Afrique australe et \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des strat\u00e9gies pour parvenir \u00e0 son adoption et \u00e0 un impact \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le projet Comprendre et encourager l'adoption de l'agriculture de conservation dans les syst\u00e8mes d'exploitation familiale de petite taille en Afrique australe (ACASA) appliquera la science sociale et la science de la mise \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle pour comprendre les facteurs moteurs et les obstacles biophysiques, socio-\u00e9conomiques, institutionnels et politiques \u00e0 l'adoption des technologies et des pratiques de l'agriculture de conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21442\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Demoplots-Canon-Copy.jpg\" alt=\"IITA and CIMMYT collaborate to enhance adoption of Conservation Agriculture in Southern Africa \" width=\"1900\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACASA est soutenu par le <a href=\"https:\/\/norad.no\/en\/front\/\">Agence norv\u00e9gienne de coop\u00e9ration au d\u00e9veloppement (Norad)<\/a> et sera mis en \u0153uvre au Malawi, en Zambie et au Zimbabwe en collaboration avec les parties prenantes de l'AC et les agriculteurs de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement lanc\u00e9 virtuellement le 16 septembre 2020 par le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.gov.zm\/\">Ministre de l'Agriculture de la Zambie<\/a>, l'hon. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parliament.gov.zm\/node\/264\">Michael Katambo<\/a>.L'honorable Katambo a not\u00e9 qu'il s'agissait d'une intervention opportune, car les moyens de subsistance et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire des petits agriculteurs en Afrique australe sont de plus en plus menac\u00e9s par le changement climatique et sa variabilit\u00e9, ce qui a entra\u00een\u00e9 un d\u00e9clin constant de la production d'aliments de base et une augmentation du nombre de personnes en situation d'ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et nutritionnelle au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIl est d\u00e9sormais clair que l'on ne peut pas s'attendre \u00e0 ce que les niveaux actuels de productivit\u00e9 et de production r\u00e9pondent \u00e0 nos besoins en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et nutritionnelle. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/conservation-agriculture\/overview\/what-is-conservation-agriculture\/en\/\">Agriculture de conservation<\/a> \u201d (L\u2019AC) a un potentiel av\u00e9r\u00e9 pour accro\u00eetre et stabiliser les rendements des cultures et pour soutenir des syst\u00e8mes de production durables et r\u00e9silients ainsi que les moyens de subsistance en milieu rural \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9 dans un discours lu en son nom par le Dr Moses Mwale, directeur du d\u00e9partement de l'Agriculture du minist\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'AC, un syst\u00e8me agricole qui favorise un minimum de perturbations du sol, une couverture permanente du sol et la diversification des esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales, peut augmenter efficacement la productivit\u00e9 agricole tout en r\u00e9duisant la d\u00e9gradation des terres et en am\u00e9liorant la sant\u00e9 des sols pour une agriculture plus productive, plus rentable et plus durable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De nombreuses donn\u00e9es exp\u00e9rimentales obtenues directement dans les exploitations ont mis en \u00e9vidence les avantages agronomiques et \u00e9conomiques de l'agriculture de conservation, introduite pour la premi\u00e8re fois dans les ann\u00e9es 70 en Afrique du Sud. Par cons\u00e9quent, des investissements importants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 consentis par la communaut\u00e9 des bailleurs de fonds et les gouvernements nationaux pour promouvoir et \u00e9tendre les technologies et les pratiques de l'agriculture de conservation aupr\u00e8s des petits exploitants agricoles de la r\u00e9gion. Malgr\u00e9 tous ces efforts, le taux d'adoption par les petits exploitants reste toutefois faible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c Nous ne devrions pas laisser la faible adoption de l'agriculture de conservation nous d\u00e9courager. Saisissons cette opportunit\u00e9 pour r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir, identifier le cha\u00eenon manquants et proposer des solutions plus durables \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me \u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Dr [Nom], directeur de l'IITA pour l'Afrique australe. <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/chikoye-david\/\">David Chikoye<\/a>, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 lors du lancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c Bien que l'adoption de pratiques am\u00e9lior\u00e9es par la plupart des agriculteurs aux ressources limit\u00e9es soit principalement d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par les avantages imm\u00e9diats potentiels sur les rendements des cultures, les profits, les risques et les moyens de subsistance, il existe un certain nombre de facteurs biophysiques, socio-\u00e9conomiques, institutionnels et politiques qui favorisent ou entravent l'adoption de l'agriculture de conservation. Le projet vise donc \u00e0 identifier les moteurs et les obstacles \u00e0 l'adoption et \u00e0 \u00e9laborer des trajectoires et des strat\u00e9gies pour une mise \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle inclusive des pratiques de l'agriculture de conservation \u201d, a-t-il ajout\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/alene-arega\/\">Dr Arega Alene<\/a>, \u00e9conomiste agricole de l'IITA bas\u00e9 au Malawi, qui dirige le projet au sein de l'IITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">S'exprimant \u00e9galement lors du lancement, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimmyt.org\/people\/christian-thierfelder\/\">Christian Thierfelder,<\/a> Agronome principal des syst\u00e8mes de culture au CIMMYT, a soulign\u00e9 que certains des obstacles \u00e0 l'adoption de l'agriculture de conservation \u00e9taient li\u00e9s davantage \u00e0 des facteurs socio-\u00e9conomiques et culturels qu'\u00e0 des facteurs biophysiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c L'AC est un syst\u00e8me agricole intelligent face au climat viable et \u00e9prouv\u00e9.
