{"id":14833,"date":"2026-06-20T12:38:23","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T12:38:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.iita.org\/news-item\/cgiar-ifdc-and-apni-agree-to-complement-institutional-interests\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T21:20:50","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T21:20:50","slug":"cgiar-ifdc-and-apni-agree-to-complement-institutional-interests","status":"publish","type":"news-item","link":"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/news-item\/cgiar-ifdc-and-apni-agree-to-complement-institutional-interests\/","title":{"rendered":"CGIAR, l'IFDC et l'APNI conviennent de concilier leurs int\u00e9r\u00eats institutionnels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the increasing interest in developing and delivering Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM) options to farmers across Africa, and the aim of increasing crop yields, and maintaining and restoring soil health, the <a href=\"https:\/\/ifdc.org\/\">Centre international de d\u00e9veloppement des engrais<\/a>, le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apni.net\/\">African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI),<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/\">IITA<\/a>, also representing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/initiative\/11-excellence-in-agronomy-eia-solutions-for-agricultural-transformation\/\">Excellence in Agronomy (EiA) Initiative<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/\">CGIAR<\/a>, are exploring collaboration towards strengthening the delivery of technical assistance to future investments in the agronomy space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_26395\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26395\" style=\"width: 982px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-26395 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IITA-and-IFDC-p1.jpg\" alt=\"Partners at the recently held Round Table on Fertilizer and Soil Health, organized by the World Bank in Lom\u00e9, Togo.\" width=\"982\" height=\"472\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26395\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Partners at the recently held Round Table on Fertilizer and Soil Health, organized by the World Bank in Lom\u00e9, Togo.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following a recently held <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/news\/press-release\/2023\/05\/31\/leaders-from-west-africa-and-the-sahel-reaffirm-commitments-to-invest-in-fertilizers-for-agricultural-transformation\">Round Table on Fertilizer and Soil Health<\/a> organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/home\">Banque mondiale<\/a> in Lom\u00e9, Togo, the leadership of IITA and IFDC confirmed that joining forces, based on respective expertise, network, and institutional footprint, would strengthen development and delivery of agronomic science solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IITA and IFDC in the past decades have invested substantially in developing and delivering agronomic science solutions aimed at increasing crop productivity of African farming systems through the appropriate deployment of fertilizer, organic inputs, good agronomic practices, and other necessary amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through these engagements the organizations have built up specific expertise in the areas of research and agronomy and created an institutional footprint in the Continent.
