Au Mozambique,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/\">IITA<\/a>\u00a0a men\u00e9 une \u00e9tude sur un semoir manuel \u00e0 pousser \u00e0 la main (HPMS), \u00e9galement connu sous le nom de planteur manuel \u00e0 pousser \u00e0 la main pour l\u00e9gumineuses (LHPMP), destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 par les agriculteurs, en particulier les agricultrices, pour l'implantation de cultures de l\u00e9gumineuses courantes, notamment le haricot commun, le ni\u00e9b\u00e9, l'arachide et le soja.\n\nL'introduction du HPMS r\u00e9pondait aux exigences concurrentes du temps des agricultrices pendant la saison des semis, alors qu'elles doivent concilier travail aux champs et soins \u00e0 la famille. En cons\u00e9quence, les femmes n'implantent pas une superficie suffisante de l\u00e9gumineuses et d'autres cultures. Le manque de temps am\u00e8ne \u00e9galement les agriculteurs \u00e0 pratiquer une agriculture traditionnelle consistant \u00e0 planter les graines au hasard, ce qui entra\u00eene un espacement unitaire faible ou \u00e9lev\u00e9 et le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de nombreuses graines dans un trou. De plus, la plantation al\u00e9atoire rend difficiles le d\u00e9sherbage, la pulv\u00e9risation et la r\u00e9colte, ce qui conduit \u00e0 de pi\u00e8tres rendements.\n<div id=\"attachment_8190\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Mechanical-legume-planter-p1.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8190\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Mechanical-legume-planter-p1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"411\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8190\" \/><\/a>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-8190\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Une agricultrice utilisant le syst\u00e8me HPLS pour planter du soja.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\nL'\u00e9tude a not\u00e9 que les agriculteurs et les agricultrices \u00e9taient dispos\u00e9s \u00e0 utiliser le HPLS en raison de sa facilit\u00e9 d'utilisation, de sa simplicit\u00e9 et de sa polyvalence pour planter un large \u00e9ventail de l\u00e9gumineuses et de c\u00e9r\u00e9ales. Les autres avantages de cet \u00e9quipement sont qu'il peut fonctionner dans diverses textures de sol et conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques, qu'il est l\u00e9ger et qu'il ne consomme pas de carburant.\n\n\u201c Le semoir est attrayant, facile \u00e0 utiliser et adapt\u00e9 au semis de diff\u00e9rentes graines. Le semoir mono-rang et multi-cultures ne n\u00e9cessite aucun entretien, \u00e0 l'exception de deux roulements qui doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement lubrifi\u00e9s pour r\u00e9duire la friction du tambour rotatif. Les agriculteurs l'ont accueilli avec enthousiasme \u201d, d\u00e9clare\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/engoke-canon\/\">Canon Engoke<\/a>, agronome sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans les syst\u00e8mes semenciers \u00e0 l'IITA au Mozambique et l'un des chercheurs travaillant \u00e0 la vulgarisation du semoir.\n<div id=\"attachment_8191\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\">\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Mechanical-legume-planter-p2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8191\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Mechanical-legume-planter-p2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"160\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8191\" \/><\/a>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-8191\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00e9quipement HPLS<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\nLe semoir a prouv\u00e9 son potentiel pour faire gagner du temps et am\u00e9liorer les rendements lors du respect de l'espacement recommand\u00e9 entre les lignes et des bonnes pratiques agronomiques. L'\u00e9tude a not\u00e9 que les agriculteurs utilisent la moiti\u00e9 du temps et r\u00e9duisent leurs co\u00fbts lors de l'utilisation du HPLS pour le ni\u00e9b\u00e9 et le soja par rapport \u00e0 la houe \u00e0 main et au semis en ligne au cordeau. Comme davantage de femmes participent \u00e0 la culture du ni\u00e9b\u00e9 pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, l'\u00e9quipement peut \u00e9conomiser du temps de semis, augmenter les rendements et accro\u00eetre le nombre de femmes agricultrices dans la production de soja.\n\nLe temps gagn\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce au HPLS pourrait \u00eatre investi pour augmenter la surface de production de la m\u00eame l\u00e9gumneuse ou pour se diversifier vers d'autres et accomplir des t\u00e2ches m\u00e9nag\u00e8res exigeantes sans affecter la production des cultures.\n\nAvec tous les avantages d\u00e9montr\u00e9s par le semoir, certains agriculteurs, en particulier les jeunes, ont exprim\u00e9 leur int\u00e9r\u00eat pour l'achat de plusieurs d'entre eux afin d'offrir des services de semis dans les communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 un tarif plus comp\u00e9titif que l'utilisation de la houe pour l'espacement en lignes. Cela cr\u00e9era des emplois parmi les femmes et les jeunes agriculteurs.\n\nL'IITA a engag\u00e9 certains artisans pour fabriquer le HPLS au Mozambique afin de le rendre largement disponible.
