As part of the commitment to transform food systems and support food security efforts on the continent, IITA<\/a> Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et CGIAR<\/a> Regional Director for Continental Africa, Dr Simeon Ehui, signed a collaboration agreement with the President of African Agricultural Leadership Institute<\/a> (AALI) and DRC-Nigeria Business Council Dr Nteranya Sanginga at IITA’s headquarters in Ibadan.<\/p>\n\n

The collaboration agreement signing follows Sanginga’s working visit to Nigeria to leverage partnerships among key regional stakeholders in the agricultural sector. This collaboration agreement will guarantee strengthening collaborative efforts, implementing concrete steps and resource sharing between IITA-CGIAR and AALI towards addressing food security challenges on the continent.<\/p>\n\n

Dr Ehui said the collaboration agreement will provide support for innovation scaling and facilitate the flow of resources for IITA and the CGIAR in DR Congo, adding that with Sanginga being a former IITA Director General, this partnership will pave the way for a more resilient and interconnected food system in Africa.<\/p>\n\n

“I am optimistic that AALI will be a fantastic partner,” Dr Ehui said.<\/p>\n\n

AALI is an independent, non-profit international entity that aims to shift the leadership of African agricultural development to the growing ranks of senior African agricultural professionals who share the insights, perspectives, and voice required to address Africa’s many challenges.<\/p>\n\n
