A presentation ceremony was held on 13 July at the station grounds with a handful of staff from both organizations attending.\n<div class=\"articleimg\">\n<div id=\"attachment_3797\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 251px\">\n\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bulletin.iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Mallam-Aminu-Abubakar-of-FCTA-presenting-the-coconut-trees-to-the-Head-of-Abuja-Station-Dr-Gbassey-Tarawali.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3797\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Mallam-Aminu-Abubakar-of-FCTA-presenting-the-coconut-trees-to-the-Head-of-Abuja-Station-Dr-Gbassey-Tarawali-300x173-1.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of Mallam Aminu Abubakar of FCTA presenting the coconut trees to the Head of Abuja Station, Dr Gbassey Tarawali\" width=\"251\" height=\"145\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3797\" \/><\/a>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-3797\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mallam Aminu Abubakar of FCTA presenting the coconut trees to the Head of Abuja Station, Dr Gbassey Tarawali<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nPresenting the agricultural materials on behalf of the FCT Minister, the FCT agricultural resident desk officer at the Abuja station, Mallam Aminu Abubakar, stated that they were \u201cmeant to add more beauty to the environment.\u201d\n\nReceiving the seedlings, IITA-Abuja Head of Station,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/tarawali-gbassey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gbassey Tarawali<\/a>\u00a0thanked the Minister for the gesture, saying that these would be adding to the natural aesthetics of the environment.\n\nThe trees have been planted in strategic locations around the station.\n\nThe presentation of these seedlings further strengthens the burgeoning collaborative relationship between the FCT Administration and IITA. It would be recalled that the FCT Minister visited the station a few months back, where he promised to support the growth and development of the station.
