Les caract\u00e8res importants pour faire face aux changements climatiques pourraient r\u00e9sider non seulement dans le ni\u00e9b\u00e9 cultiv\u00e9, mais aussi dans ses apparent\u00e9s sauvages.\n<div id=\"attachment_2500\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 653px\">\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1024_DSC0730.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2500\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/1024_DSC0730.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of Researcher inspecting cowpea plants.\" width=\"653\" height=\"348\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2500\" \/><\/a>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2500\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chercheur inspectant des plants de ni\u00e9b\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\nPar cons\u00e9quent, des obtenteurs de ni\u00e9b\u00e9 de trois pays d'Afrique de l'Ouest se sont r\u00e9unis pour leur premi\u00e8re r\u00e9union annuelle de projet les 25 et 26 avril \u00e0 la maison d'h\u00f4tes de l'IITA \u00e0 Lagos, afin de discuter des progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans l'identification d'individus d'esp\u00e8ces apparent\u00e9es qui pourraient s'av\u00e9rer utiles pour am\u00e9liorer la tol\u00e9rance du ni\u00e9b\u00e9 \u00e0 la chaleur et \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse.\n\nLes r\u00e9sultats de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de mise en \u0153uvre du projet ont montr\u00e9 qu'une variation importante \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sente dans le mat\u00e9riel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique sauvage, avec un potentiel d'utilisation pour am\u00e9liorer la culture cultiv\u00e9e une fois que des croisements et une s\u00e9lection appropri\u00e9s auront \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s.\n\n&nbsp;\n<div id=\"attachment_2501\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\">\n\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bulletin.iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMGP1135_1024_160617.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2501\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMGP1135_1024_160617-237x300.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of Improved cowpea variety.\" width=\"300\" height=\"380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2501\" \/><\/a>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2501\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de ni\u00e9b\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/boukar-ousmane\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ousmane Boukar<\/a>, le chef de projet, a fait remarquer que \u201c au cours de la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de cet important projet, l'\u00e9valuation des esp\u00e8ces sauvages apparent\u00e9es au ni\u00e9b\u00e9 sous des temp\u00e9ratures nocturnes \u00e9lev\u00e9es (&gt;20 \u00b0C) et un stress hydrique a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 plusieurs accessions pr\u00e9sentant de meilleures performances que les lign\u00e9es cultiv\u00e9es tol\u00e9rantes \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse et \u00e0 la chaleur existantes dans ces conditions de stress.
