La science citoyenne en ornithologie fait appel \u00e0 la participation de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles du public et de passionn\u00e9s de nature pour collecter des donn\u00e9es sur les oiseaux. Dix-sept chercheurs form\u00e9s par l'APLORI, dont <a href=\"https:\/\/forestcenter.iita.org\/\">Centre forestier de l'IITA<\/a> Le gestionnaire Adewale Awoyemi fait \u00e9tat des contributions inestimables des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles de la science citoyenne dans ce document <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/ece3.11280\">nouvel article scientifique<\/a>. Dans le cadre de <a href=\"https:\/\/nibap.ng\/\">Projet d'atlas des oiseaux du Nig\u00e9ria<\/a> (NiBAP), leurs travaux att\u00e9nuent le manque de donn\u00e9es sur la distribution des oiseaux nig\u00e9rians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_29904\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29904\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29904\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Top-10-species-recorded-by-NiBAP-between-2015-and-2022-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Top 10 species recorded by NiBAP between 2015 and 2022.\" width=\"400\" height=\"652\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29904\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Top 10 des esp\u00e8ces enregistr\u00e9es par le NiBAP entre 2015 et 2022.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NiBAP a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en 2015 en tant que premier volet de science participative du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aplori.org\/\">Institut de recherche ornithologique A.P. Leventis<\/a> (APLORI), Jos, Nigeria. Lanc\u00e9 dans le but de recenser toutes les esp\u00e8ces d\u2019oiseaux du Nigeria et d\u2019en documenter les descriptions avec l\u2019aide de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles issus de la science citoyenne, le NiBAP a connu jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent un succ\u00e8s consid\u00e9rable. Comptant actuellement 827 passionn\u00e9s d&#x27;ornithologie r\u00e9partis dans 28 clubs ornithologiques \u00e0 travers le Nigeria, et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant de l&#x27;expertise d&#x27;ornithologues form\u00e9s par l&#x27;APLORI, le NiBAP a recens\u00e9 75% d&#x27;esp\u00e8ces d&#x27;oiseaux du Nigeria, couvrant seulement 50% de la superficie totale du pays. \u00c0 ce jour, 39 esp\u00e8ces class\u00e9es comme menac\u00e9es au niveau national par l\u2019UICN ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recens\u00e9es, dont trois en danger critique d\u2019extinction, neuf en danger, treize vuln\u00e9rables, treize quasi menac\u00e9es et une esp\u00e8ce pour laquelle les donn\u00e9es sont insuffisantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sur l&#x27;ensemble des esp\u00e8ces recens\u00e9es, 30 sont des migrateurs intra-africains, 94 sont des migrateurs pal\u00e9arctiques, et la majorit\u00e9, qui repr\u00e9sente environ 85% des observations, est constitu\u00e9e d&#x27;esp\u00e8ces s\u00e9dentaires, notamment le bulbul commun, la tourterelle rieuse et le camaroptera \u00e0 dos gris. La r\u00e9serve foresti\u00e8re d&#x27;Amurum, la ferme piscicole de Rennajj et le ranch d&#x27;Obudu ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les sites les plus \u00e9tudi\u00e9s au cours de la p\u00e9riode d&#x27;\u00e9tude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_29905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29905\" style=\"width: 577px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-29905\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Progress-of-coverage-by-NiBAP-between-2015-and-2022.jpg\" alt=\"Progress of coverage by NiBAP between 2015 and 2022.\" width=\"577\" height=\"332\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-29905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00c9volution de la couverture par le NiBAP entre 2015 et 2022.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exploiter le potentiel des sciences participatives pour collecter des donn\u00e9es sur les oiseaux est relativement peu co\u00fbteux et favorise la sensibilisation des citoyens \u00e0 la conservation de la biodiversit\u00e9. Cette approche forme de futurs experts qui attirent \u00e0 leur tour d'autres experts potentiels, renfor\u00e7ant ainsi l'\u00e9ducation et la sensibilisation \u00e0 la conservation de la biodiversit\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le continent. Les donn\u00e9es fournies par les scientifiques citoyens s'av\u00e8rent utiles pour surveiller et analyser les tendances d\u00e9mographiques, identifier la diversit\u00e9 aviaire selon les zones et examiner la sant\u00e9 de divers \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes. Certains membres du NiBAP ont publi\u00e9 leurs propres articles sur les oiseaux, d\u00e9veloppant ainsi leur base de connaissances et leurs comp\u00e9tences en tant qu'experts du d\u00e9veloppement naturel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L'\u00e9quipe recommande que les pays dot\u00e9s d'institutions telles que l'APLORI au Nig\u00e9ria et <a href=\"https:\/\/acdi.uct.ac.za\/fitzpatrick-institute-african-ornithology\">Institut Percy FitzPatrick d'ornithologie africaine<\/a> (PFIAO) en Afrique du Sud reproduisent cette approche de science citoyenne collaborative pour enrichir les donn\u00e9es sur la biodiversit\u00e9 aviaire. D'autres pays d\u00e9pourvus de ces institutions devraient exploiter les infrastructures existantes, telles que le partenariat national BirdLife et d'autres institutions acad\u00e9miques orient\u00e9es vers l'ornithologie, l'\u00e9cologie et la conservation, afin d'enrichir les \u00e9tudes sur les oiseaux et de fournir des donn\u00e9es aviaires.
