More than 1,500 delegates attended the opening session of the 2016 AGRF.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\nA whopping US$30 billion was further committed to support Africa\u2019s Agriculture Transformation Agenda by the Kenyan government and development partners such as the\u00a0Banque africaine de d\u00e9veloppement<\/a>, le\u00a0Fondation Bill & Melinda Gates<\/a>, le\u00a0Rockefeller Foundation<\/a>, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Group, the World Food Programme, Yara International ASA, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (FIDA<\/a>).\n\nThe theme of this year\u2019s AGRF was \u201cSeize the Moment: Securing Africa\u2019s Rise through Agricultural Transformation.\u201d This was in line with the campaign \u201cSeize the Moment\u201d that was launched at the 12th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP<\/a>\u00a0Partnership Platform meeting in Accra, Ghana, in April 2016.\n
