Ce changement, principalement pouss\u00e9 par l'activit\u00e9 humaine, a des implications profondes pour la sant\u00e9 des sols et la durabilit\u00e9 des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chercheurs de l'Institut de l'Environnement et de Recherches Agricoles, Burkina Faso; <a href=\"https:\/\/cropsresearch.org\/\">Institut de recherche sur les cultures (CSIR)<\/a>, Ghana; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knust.edu.gh\/\">Universit\u00e9 des sciences et de la technologie Kwame Nkrumah<\/a>, Ghana; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imperial.ac.uk\/\">Imperial College of Science and Technology<\/a>, Londres; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wur.nl\/en.htm\">Universit\u00e9 de Wageningen<\/a>, Pays-Bas ; <a href=\"https:\/\/funaab.edu.ng\/\">Universit\u00e9 f\u00e9d\u00e9rale d'agriculture d'Abeokuta<\/a>, et le <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/\">Institut International d'Agriculture Tropicale (IIAT)<\/a>, ont explor\u00e9 ces impacts, mettant en lumi\u00e8re la mani\u00e8re dont les changements d'affectation des terres affectent la mati\u00e8re organique du sol (MOS) et les indicateurs cl\u00e9s de la qualit\u00e9 du sol, tels que les macro- et micronutriments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11104-024-06568-z\">\u00e9tudier<\/a> ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que lorsque les savanes se transforment en \u00eelots forestiers, la sant\u00e9 des sols s&#x27;am\u00e9liore consid\u00e9rablement. La teneur en mati\u00e8re organique du sol (SOM) dans la couche arable a augment\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re spectaculaire \u2014 atteignant 7 941 TP3T \u2014 et la concentration en nutriments essentiels tels que le potassium, le calcium et le magn\u00e9sium a fortement augment\u00e9. Les niveaux de SOM ont chut\u00e9 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 74%, en particulier dans les couches de terre v\u00e9g\u00e9tale. Ce d\u00e9clin compromet la capacit\u00e9 productive du sol, le rendant vuln\u00e9rable \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9rosion, \u00e0 une agr\u00e9gation r\u00e9duite et \u00e0 une diminution de l\u2019activit\u00e9 des organismes b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques du sol. Malgr\u00e9 les efforts visant \u00e0 enrichir les sols par la fertilisation, les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices de ces pratiques ne suffisent souvent pas \u00e0 compenser les pertes inh\u00e9rentes caus\u00e9es par cette transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le r\u00f4le des communaut\u00e9s locales dans la pr\u00e9servation de la sant\u00e9 des sols ne peut \u00eatre n\u00e9glig\u00e9. L'\u00e9tude met en \u00e9vidence la mani\u00e8re dont les pratiques de gestion des terres par les populations autochtones ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la formation d'\u00eelots forestiers, contredisant ainsi les id\u00e9es fausses ant\u00e9rieures selon lesquelles ces parcelles \u00e9taient des vestiges de for\u00eats anciennes. Ces efforts men\u00e9s par les communaut\u00e9s offrent de pr\u00e9cieux enseignements en mati\u00e8re de gestion durable des terres et pourraient \u00e9clairer les strat\u00e9gies visant \u00e0 att\u00e9nuer les effets n\u00e9fastes du changement climatique sur les syst\u00e8mes agraires aux ressources limit\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La recherche a montr\u00e9 que les indicateurs de qualit\u00e9 des sols varient consid\u00e9rablement selon le type d'utilisation des terres et la situation g\u00e9ographique. Par exemple, des sols riches en nutriments et des pratiques agricoles intensives sur un site du nord du Ghana ont conduit \u00e0 une meilleure qualit\u00e9 des sols dans les terres arables que dans les \u00eelots forestiers ou les savanes. Cependant, il s'agissait d'une exception plut\u00f4t que de la r\u00e8gle, les \u00eelots forestiers surpassant g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement les autres \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 des sols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avec la demande croissante de production alimentaire, il existe \u00e9galement un besoin urgent de convertir davantage de savanes en terres agricoles. Les r\u00e9sultats soulignent la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 urgente d'adopter des pratiques agricoles durables. Des techniques telles que l'agroforesterie, une meilleure rotation des cultures et des m\u00e9thodes de conservation des sols pourraient aider \u00e0 compenser les impacts n\u00e9gatifs des changements d'affectation des terres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alors que nous nous tournons vers l'avenir, l'\u00e9tude offre une perspective encourageante. La restauration des terres marginales en \u00eelots forestiers am\u00e9liore la fertilit\u00e9 des sols et contribue \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 globale de l'\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me.
