Mohammed Umaru Bago, paid a courtesy visit to the IITA headquarters in Ibadan recently to explore potential collaboration in agriculture and technology adoption. The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening ties between the government and IITA to enhance agricultural productivity, food security, and sustainable farming practices in Niger State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During his visit, Governor Bago met with IITA\u2019s Director General, Dr Simeon Ehui, and a team of leading scientists. The Governor expressed interest in deploying these solutions to enhance food production, improve farmers\u2019 livelihoods, and boost economic development in Niger State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the visit, Governor Bago emphasized the state&#8217;s commitment to revolutionizing agriculture through strategic partnerships. \u201cNiger State has vast agricultural potential, and we are determined to tap into the best technologies and expertise to drive productivity and food security. IITA has been at the forefront of agricultural research, and we look forward to collaborating on sustainable solutions for our farmers,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response, Dr Ehui reaffirmed IITA\u2019s commitment to working with Niger State to scale up agricultural innovations. \u201cWe are excited about this engagement with Niger State and the opportunity to deploy our research for real impact.
