Alors que le changement climatique et la croissance d\u00e9mographique intensifient la pression sur les syst\u00e8mes alimentaires, les petits agriculteurs ont urgemment besoin de solutions innovantes pour stimuler la productivit\u00e9 et garantir des moyens de subsistance durables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conscient de ce besoin crucial, <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/\">IITA<\/a>\u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/\">CGIAR<\/a>, en partenariat avec le gouvernement de l'\u00c9tat d'Ondo, a form\u00e9 les producteurs d'igname de l'\u00c9tat aux techniques am\u00e9lior\u00e9es de semences et aux pratiques innovantes pour la multiplication des fragments d'igname et la production de tubercules, s'attaquant directement au probl\u00e8me de l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des semences d'igname de qualit\u00e9 et \u00e0 la faible productivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La formation de deux jours, organis\u00e9e \u00e0 Akure, s'inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus de l'IITA pour doter les agriculteurs des connaissances et des comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires afin de stimuler la production et de renforcer les syst\u00e8mes semenciers gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des technologies de pointe et des solutions pratiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anim\u00e9 par le Dr Olugboyega Pelemo, responsable du terrain et du syst\u00e8me semencier au programme d'am\u00e9lioration de l'igname de l'IITA, le programme a initi\u00e9 les participants \u00e0 des techniques modernes telles que l'utilisation de mini-sections pour produire des semences d'igname de haute qualit\u00e9, ce qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re \u00e0 son tour des tubercules plus gros et plus commercialisables. La formation a \u00e9galement couvert les meilleures pratiques en mati\u00e8re de plantation, de stockage, de r\u00e9colte et de gestion durable des sols, y compris les avantages de la rotation des cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_33236\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33236\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Dr-Pelemo--rotated.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-33236\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Dr-Pelemo-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Olugboyega Pelemo during the training of farmers in Ondo state.\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Le Dr Olugboyega Pelemo lors de la formation des agriculteurs dans l'\u00c9tat d'Ondo.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Dr Pelemo a remis aux participants des plants d\u2019igname certifi\u00e9s, en soulignant leur potentiel de rendement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et leur r\u00e9sistance aux maladies, ainsi que les innovations susceptibles d\u2019augmenter les revenus des agriculteurs jusqu\u2019\u00e0 40% tout en r\u00e9duisant les pertes de r\u00e9colte. Les ateliers pratiques ont permis aux agriculteurs d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir une exp\u00e9rience concr\u00e8te, tandis que les discussions ont abord\u00e9 les pr\u00e9occupations de la communaut\u00e9, telles que l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux semences et les infrastructures de stockage. Il a \u00e9galement encourag\u00e9 le recours \u00e0 des structures coop\u00e9ratives pour un meilleur acc\u00e8s aux intrants et \u00e0 une formation continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans le cadre du programme, 25 coop\u00e9ratives d'agriculteurs ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de semences d'igname destin\u00e9es \u00e0 \u00eatre distribu\u00e9es \u00e0 leurs membres, garantissant ainsi que les connaissances acquises sont associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des ressources pratiques pour les mettre en \u0153uvre.
