La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation a identifi\u00e9 des technologies innovantes adapt\u00e9es pour soutenir le programme de transformation agricole du pays. Cette mission refl\u00e8te la vision du pays de transformer ses syst\u00e8mes agricoles pour devenir le \u201c grenier de l'oc\u00e9an Indien \u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation de 9 membres comprenait des hauts responsables techniques et politiques du minist\u00e8re de l'Agriculture et de l'\u00c9levage de Madagascar ainsi que de ses instituts nationaux (FOFIFA, DPV, SOC), du Programme de r\u00e9silience des syst\u00e8mes alimentaires (FSRP) et de la Banque mondiale. Parmi les hauts fonctionnaires figuraient Rakotomalala Ny Riana, conseiller technique du ministre de l'Agriculture et de l'\u00c9levage ; Leong Pock Tsy Jean Michel, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du FOFIFA, l'Institut national de recherche agricole ; et Rafalimanana Oliva, coordinateur national du FSRP. Leur mission \u00e9tait d'identifier les technologies et les partenariats susceptibles de renforcer l'actuel projet de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire de Madagascar, les syst\u00e8mes semenciers, la gestion de la fertilit\u00e9 des sols et la r\u00e9silience face aux ravageurs, aux maladies et aux d\u00e9fis aggrav\u00e9s par le climat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La visite s'est align\u00e9e sur la vision du Pr\u00e9sident de Madagascar d'atteindre l'autosuffisance alimentaire et la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 nationale. Les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s ont examin\u00e9 les opportunit\u00e9s de lier les neuf programmes de transformation agricole de Madagascar aux innovations de l'IITA. Les discussions ont port\u00e9 sur les syst\u00e8mes d'am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 des semences, le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s de laboratoire, la protection phytosanitaire et l'incubation de start-up agricoles dans le cadre d'une collaboration potentielle entre l'Acad\u00e9mie FOFIFA et la plateforme d'incubation d'entreprises (BIP) de l'IITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alors qu'un projet Aflasafe financ\u00e9 par le FSRP est d\u00e9j\u00e0 en cours \u00e0 Madagascar, la visite de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation a mis un accent particulier sur l'examen des progr\u00e8s r\u00e9alis\u00e9s et la planification des prochains essais de lutte biologique ainsi que de la construction d'un laboratoire et d'une unit\u00e9 de fabrication de produits de lutte biologique \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle. Un \u00e9l\u00e9ment central des discussions a port\u00e9 sur la mani\u00e8re de renforcer la collaboration durable entre les secteurs public et priv\u00e9. \u00c0 cette fin, les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s ont visit\u00e9 HarvestField Industries Limited, le partenaire agr\u00e9\u00e9 de l'IITA au Nig\u00e9ria qui fabrique et commercialise l'Aflasafe. Cette visite a offert un aper\u00e7u pratique du processus de production, des mod\u00e8les de distribution et des voies r\u00e9glementaires qui soutiennent le d\u00e9ploiement \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle de solutions de lutte contre les aflatoxines \u2014 des enseignements qui peuvent nourrir les efforts en cours \u00e0 Madagascar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_33483\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33483\" style=\"width: 820px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-33483 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IITA-Senior-Plant-Pathologist.png\" alt=\"Alejandro Ortega-Beltran, IITA Senior Plant Pathologist and Head of Pathology and Mycotoxin\/Aflasafe Unit taking the delegates through IITA\u2019s Aflasafe biocontrol solution to aflatoxin, a common food safety threat across sub-Saharan Africa.\" width=\"820\" height=\"411\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33483\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alejandro Ortega-Beltran, phytopathologiste senior de l'IITA et chef de l'Unit\u00e9 de pathologie et de lutte contre les mycotoxines\/Aflasafe, pr\u00e9sente aux d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s la solution de biocontr\u00f4le Aflasafe de l'IITA contre l'aflatoxine, une menace courante pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire en Afrique subsaharienne.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s se sont \u00e9galement entretenus avec le Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral adjoint des services institutionnels de l'IITA, <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/koper-hilde\/\">Hilde Koper-Limbourg<\/a>, qui a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un aper\u00e7u des op\u00e9rations institutionnelles de l'IITA. Elle a mis en lumi\u00e8re les syst\u00e8mes de gestion de projets de l'Institut, les processus de budg\u00e9tisation et de calcul des co\u00fbts, le financement de la main-d'\u0153uvre et la collaboration avec les partenaires nationaux, offrant ainsi aux participants une compr\u00e9hension approfondie des structures de soutien qui sous-tendent la recherche et la mise en \u0153uvre de l'IITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pendant la visite, la technologie Seed Tracker de l'IITA a suscit\u00e9 un vif int\u00e9r\u00eat. Cette plateforme num\u00e9rique am\u00e9liore la transparence, la tra\u00e7abilit\u00e9 et le contr\u00f4le de la qualit\u00e9 dans l'ensemble des syst\u00e8mes semenciers, en fournissant des donn\u00e9es en temps r\u00e9el accessibles aux agriculteurs, aux transformateurs, aux r\u00e9gulateurs, aux donateurs et aux autres parties prenantes. Selon <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/kumar-lava\/\">Lava Kumar<\/a>, virologue \u00e0 l'IITA et responsable de l'Unit\u00e9 de sant\u00e9 du germoplasme : \u201c L'outil Seed Tracker poss\u00e8de des fonctionnalit\u00e9s pertinentes pour tous les acteurs de la cha\u00eene de valeur. Son int\u00e9gration pourrait doter Madagascar d'un syst\u00e8me de distribution de semences plus transparent et efficace. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au cours de l'une des sessions d'apprentissage, la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation a examin\u00e9 comment le p\u00f4le r\u00e9gional pour les engrais et la sant\u00e9 des sols pour l'Afrique de l'Ouest et le Sahel exploite la science des donn\u00e9es, la mod\u00e9lisation avanc\u00e9e et les techniques de gestion int\u00e9gr\u00e9e de la fertilit\u00e9 des sols pour formuler des recommandations d'engrais adapt\u00e9es aux agriculteurs. Ces approches visent \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 des sols, \u00e0 stimuler la productivit\u00e9 agricole, \u00e0 renforcer la r\u00e9silience des agriculteurs face au changement climatique et \u00e0 maintenir la rentabilit\u00e9. Les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s ont \u00e9galement d\u00e9couvert la technologie de culture hydroponique semi-autotrophe (SAH) de l'IITA, qui permet la multiplication rapide de mat\u00e9riel de plantation de manioc et d'igname exempt de maladies, essentiel pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire dans les r\u00e9gions d\u00e9pendantes des cultures racines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sanitaire des aliments et la nutrition ont \u00e9t\u00e9 des th\u00e8mes centraux tout au long de la mission. <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/dr-mercy-lungaho\/\">Mercy Lung\u2019aho<\/a>, responsable du programme S\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, Nutrition et Sant\u00e9 de l'IITA, a engag\u00e9 l'\u00e9quipe dans des discussions autour des strat\u00e9gies d'optimisation de la nutrition. <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/titilayo-falade\/\">Titilayo Falade<\/a>, scientifique de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des aliments \u00e0 l'IITA, a engag\u00e9 l'\u00e9quipe dans des d\u00e9lib\u00e9rations sur l'att\u00e9nuation de l'aflatoxine et d'autres \u00e9tudes et interventions sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des aliments pertinentes pour le contexte de Madagascar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_33484\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33484\" style=\"width: 820px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-33484 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/the-HarvestField-Industries-Limited.png\" alt=\"The Madagascar delegates with the HarvestField Industries Limited (HIL) staff after touring the facility to learn operation and production processes.\" width=\"820\" height=\"411\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-33484\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s de Madagascar avec le personnel de HarvestField Industries Limited (HIL) apr\u00e8s avoir visit\u00e9 l'installation pour d\u00e9couvrir les processus d'exploitation et de production.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au si\u00e8ge de l'IITA \u00e0 Ibadan, la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation a visit\u00e9 les stations de recherche sur le terrain et les laboratoires, s'entretenant avec des chercheurs et des experts techniques des programmes de recherche de l'IITA sur le ma\u00efs, le soja, le ni\u00e9b\u00e9, le manioc et le plantain\/banane. Ils ont \u00e9galement \u00e9chang\u00e9 avec <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africarice.org\/\">AfricaRice<\/a> repr\u00e9sentants sur les technologies rizicoles avanc\u00e9es adapt\u00e9es aux syst\u00e8mes de production de Madagascar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un autre point fort a \u00e9t\u00e9 la visite de l'unit\u00e9 de transformation du manioc de l'IITA, o\u00f9 l'\u00e9quipe a go\u00fbt\u00e9 une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de produits \u00e0 base de manioc allant des g\u00e2teaux et petits pains aux chips, au shawarma et \u00e0 la glace. Cela a mis en valeur les opportunit\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques de la transformation post-r\u00e9colte et de la valorisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant \u00e0 cette visite, Andriampeno Tanteliniaina, coordinateur adjoint du FSRP, a soulign\u00e9 : \u201c chaque technologie que nous avons observ\u00e9e r\u00e9pond directement aux priorit\u00e9s de Madagascar en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire, d'am\u00e9lioration de la nutrition, de moyens de subsistance durables et de renforcement des capacit\u00e9s. \u201d Leong Jean Michel, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du FOFIFA, a ajout\u00e9 : \u201c les \u00e9changes que nous avons eus avec les chercheurs et les experts nous permettront de progresser dans la recherche directe et, en fin de compte, d'am\u00e9liorer la production alimentaire \u00e0 Madagascar. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La mission s'est conclue par la r\u00e9daction d'une note conceptuelle d\u00e9crivant les domaines d'intervention prioritaires, notamment le renforcement du projet Aflasafe en cours \u00e0 Madagascar et de nouveaux domaines de collaboration avec l'IITA tels que les syst\u00e8mes semenciers, la gestion de la fertilit\u00e9 des sols et le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s de recherche malgaches. Cela marque une \u00e9tape importante dans la collaboration entre l'IITA et Madagascar, s'appuyant sur des engagements ant\u00e9rieurs et des partenariats de travail existants avec l'IITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans ses remarques de cl\u00f4ture, le Directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral adjoint par int\u00e9rim de l'IITA, Partenariats pour la mise en \u0153uvre, <a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/fr\/iita-staff\/abdoulaye-tahirou\/\">Abdoulaye Tahirou<\/a>, a f\u00e9licit\u00e9 le personnel et les scientifiques de l'IITA d'avoir offert \u00e0 la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation une exp\u00e9rience enrichissante et immersive. Il a soulign\u00e9 que les domaines de collaboration identifi\u00e9s ont le potentiel de transformer l'agriculture africaine \u2014 non seulement pour Madagascar, mais aussi pour l'humanit\u00e9 tout enti\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour l'IITA, cette visite r\u00e9affirme son r\u00f4le en tant qu'institut d'innovation agricole et partenaire de confiance pour les gouvernements et les bailleurs de fonds \u00e0 la recherche de solutions transformatrices pour les syst\u00e8mes alimentaires.
