Le Dr Lawrence Kent interagit avec des chercheurs de l'IITA et du CIP lors de la visite du laboratoire.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nDans le cadre des efforts visant \u00e0 obtenir un aper\u00e7u direct des installations qui soutiendront la formation pratique dans le cadre du projet BioCap \u00e0 venir, Dr Lawrence Kent de la Fondation Gates a visit\u00e9 IITA<\/a> Biotechnology Laboratories recently. The visit took place ahead of the official launch of BioCap in Rwanda. It focused on familiarizing the donor with the environment where shuttle training and hands-on genome editing work for Rwandan scientists will be conducted.\n\nDr Kent was taken through the laboratories by Docteur Leena Tripathi<\/a> et l'\u00e9quipe Biotechnologie de l'IITA, qui a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le pipeline d'\u00e9dition g\u00e9n\u00e9tique des bananes, y compris l'infrastructure de laboratoire, les flux de travail de recherche, les syst\u00e8mes de bios\u00e9curit\u00e9 et les cadres de intendance qui guident la recherche conforme. This platform will equip Rwandan scientists with the skills and environment necessary to make a tangible impact by applying plant genome editing technology in the development of disease-\n\nresistant crops.\n\n

We are excited to\n\nsupport BioCap and empower Rwandan scientists with practical genome editing expertise.\u201d\n\nThe engagement assured that IITA\u2019s Gene Editing Platform is well-positioned to host and support the practical components of the BioCap program. By anchoring training within a controlled and well-established research environment, the platform will enable Rwandan scientists to acquire the skills needed to advance the development of gene-edited, disease-resistant bananas, contributing to long-term regional capacity in agricultural biotechnology.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n
