Cette tourn\u00e9e a \u00e9t\u00e9 l'occasion d'\u00e9valuer les progr\u00e8s des essais sur le soja et des activit\u00e9s de s\u00e9lection, tout en interagissant directement avec les agriculteurs et les parties prenantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une caract\u00e9ristique cl\u00e9 du programme est l'utilisation de l'approche TRICOT, qui permet aux agriculteurs de tester et de comparer de multiples vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de soja dans leurs propres conditions d'exploitation et de s\u00e9lectionner celles qui obtiennent les meilleurs r\u00e9sultats. C'est important car les performances en station de recherche ne refl\u00e8tent pas toujours les r\u00e9sultats obtenus dans de v\u00e9ritables conditions agricoles. Les agriculteurs plantent et g\u00e8rent eux-m\u00eames les essais, ce qui permet aux chercheurs d'\u00e9valuer si les m\u00eames r\u00e9sultats peuvent \u00eatre atteints selon les pratiques paysannes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le mod\u00e8le implique un grand nombre d'agriculteurs r\u00e9partis dans diff\u00e9rents sites, qui testent de nouveaux mat\u00e9riels aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s \u201c t\u00e9moins \u201d, comprenant des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de l'IITA d\u00e9j\u00e0 commercialis\u00e9es ainsi que celles d'entreprises priv\u00e9es. Ces comparaisons permettent de d\u00e9terminer si les nouvelles vari\u00e9t\u00e9s surpassent de mani\u00e8re constante les options existantes en termes de rendement, de tol\u00e9rance aux maladies et d'adaptabilit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c Avec cette approche, nous pouvons voir par nous-m\u00eames quelle vari\u00e9t\u00e9 donne les meilleurs r\u00e9sultats dans nos fermes et dans nos conditions, ce qui facilite le choix de ce qu'il faut planter \u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mavuto Eliamu, un agriculteur participant du district de Mchinji, au Malawi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><figure id=\"attachment_34525\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34525\" style=\"width: 820px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IITA-and-partners-during-the-2026-soybean-tour.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34525\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IITA-and-partners-during-the-2026-soybean-tour.png\" alt=\"IITA and partners during the 2026 soybean tour, reviewing field trials and advancing efforts to develop resilient, high-performing soybean varieties for Southern Africa. \" width=\"820\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34525\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I'IITA et ses partenaires lors de la tourn\u00e9e du soja 2026, examinant les essais au champ et faisant progresser les efforts pour d\u00e9velopper des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de soja r\u00e9silientes et \u00e0 haut rendement pour l'Afrique australe.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le s\u00e9lectionneur de soja de l'IITA, Abush Tesfaye Abebe, a soulign\u00e9 que des progr\u00e8s significatifs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s depuis le lancement du projet en 2023, en particulier dans l'identification de mat\u00e9riels tol\u00e9rants aux maladies et ayant le potentiel de fournir des rendements am\u00e9lior\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNous avons constat\u00e9 des changements prometteurs, en particulier dans l'identification de mat\u00e9riaux plus tol\u00e9rants aux maladies et pr\u00e9sentant un fort potentiel de meilleurs rendements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">IITA travaille en collaboration avec des partenaires de recherche nationaux, notamment le D\u00e9partement des services de recherche agricole (DARS) au Malawi et l'Institut de recherche agricole de Zambie (ZARI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au Malawi, 150 agriculteurs de Zomba, Mchinji et Kasungu participent au projet, tandis qu'en Zambie, 240 agriculteurs sont engag\u00e9s dans les provinces Centrale, Orientale et M\u00e9ridionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Outre la s\u00e9lection men\u00e9e par les agriculteurs, le programme poursuit ses efforts de s\u00e9lection visant \u00e0 relever les d\u00e9fis majeurs li\u00e9s \u00e0 la production. Ces essais sont actuellement men\u00e9s en Zambie \u00e0 l'IITA-SARAH et \u00e0 l'IITA-ZARI, ainsi qu'au Malawi \u00e0 la station de recherche de Bvumbwe \u00e0 Blantyre et \u00e0 la station de l'IITA \u00e0 Chitedze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bien que les essais soient actuellement concentr\u00e9s en Zambie et au Malawi, les interventions de s\u00e9lection sont con\u00e7ues pour produire des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de soja adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 une adoption plus large dans toute la r\u00e9gion de l'Afrique australe, garantissant ainsi que les avantages s'\u00e9tendent au-del\u00e0 des sites de test actuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La visite, men\u00e9e du 30 mars au 6 avril 2026, a inclus la participation de parties prenantes telles que la Fondation Gates, Bayer, 2Blades, le R\u00e9seau d'am\u00e9lioration du soja pour l'Afrique et l'Universit\u00e9 de l'Illinois, qui ont fourni un soutien technique et des perspectives dans le cadre du projet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En combinant l'expertise des agriculteurs et l'innovation scientifique, le programme acc\u00e9l\u00e8re le d\u00e9veloppement et l'adoption de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de soja r\u00e9silientes.
