L'initiative soutient les agriculteurs dans l'adoption de technologies de gestion int\u00e9gr\u00e9e de la fertilit\u00e9 des sols (GIFS) qui renforcent la productivit\u00e9 des sols et augmentent les rendements du bl\u00e9, du ma\u00efs et du soja. Le projet marque \u00e9galement la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape vers le futur Couloir Vert Kivu-Kinshasa, un programme ambitieux visant \u00e0 transformer l'agriculture dans l'est de la RDC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"615\" src=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Farmers-receiving-improved-seeds-and-fertilizer-kits-768x615-1.png\" alt=\"Women farmers learning improved agronomic practices during a field demonstration\" class=\"wp-image-6275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Farmers-receiving-improved-seeds-and-fertilizer-kits-768x615-1.png 768w, https:\/\/iita.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Farmers-receiving-improved-seeds-and-fertilizer-kits-768x615-1-300x240.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Des agricultrices apprenant des pratiques agronomiques am\u00e9lior\u00e9es lors d'une d\u00e9monstration sur le terrain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, le projet pilote a touch\u00e9 350 petits exploitants agricoles, dont 60 % de femmes, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une combinaison de campagnes de sensibilisation, de formations th\u00e9oriques et pratiques, et de distribution de semences et d'engrais am\u00e9lior\u00e9s. Au total, 1 577 personnes, majoritairement des agriculteurs, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sensibilis\u00e9es \u00e0 la GSI et \u00e0 ses avantages pour une agriculture durable. Ces efforts de sensibilisation aident les agriculteurs \u00e0 comprendre non seulement comment appliquer les technologies am\u00e9lior\u00e9es, mais aussi pourquoi de tels changements sont essentiels pour restaurer la sant\u00e9 des sols dans une r\u00e9gion qui a connu des d\u00e9cennies de d\u00e9gradation des terres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les agriculteurs ont re\u00e7u des kits d'intrants complets comprenant des semences de bl\u00e9 hybride (Hyrax), des semences de ma\u00efs am\u00e9lior\u00e9es (Bazooka), des semences de soja (Mak Soya 3) et des engrais min\u00e9raux tels que le DAP et l'ur\u00e9e. Ces intrants permettent aux agriculteurs d'\u00e9tablir imm\u00e9diatement leurs champs de production et d'appliquer les pratiques apprises lors de la formation. Pendant des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations, on nous avait dit que les engrais chimiques d\u00e9gradaient le sol, donc les agriculteurs les \u00e9vitaient compl\u00e8tement. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur formation pratique et \u00e0 leurs conseils techniques, ils nous ont fait d\u00e9couvrir les techniques cl\u00e9s qui nous ont permis d\u2019augmenter nos rendements, d\u2019am\u00e9liorer notre productivit\u00e9 et de stimuler de mani\u00e8re durable la production de bl\u00e9 et de ma\u00efs. \u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les journ\u00e9es de d\u00e9monstration du projet, tenues du 1er au 5 d\u00e9cembre 2025 dans les centres de Lubero, Masereka, Magheria, Kyondo et Kasongwere, ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le central dans le renforcement de l'adoption du paquet de l'APIS. Ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements ont servi de salles de classe \u00e0 ciel ouvert o\u00f9 les agriculteurs ont observ\u00e9 l'impact direct des technologies am\u00e9lior\u00e9es sur les performances des cultures. Sous la direction des chercheurs de l'IITA et de l'AALI, les participants ont compar\u00e9 les approches agricoles traditionnelles avec les champs am\u00e9lior\u00e9s par l'APIS, acqu\u00e9rant ainsi une exp\u00e9rience directe qui a renforc\u00e9 ce qu'ils avaient appris lors des formations.&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c Les agriculteurs font plus confiance \u00e0 ce qu'ils voient qu'\u00e0 ce qu'on leur dit. Ces parcelles de d\u00e9monstration les aident \u00e0 comprendre comment des semences am\u00e9lior\u00e9es et une bonne gestion de la fertilit\u00e9 des sols peuvent facilement doubler, voire tripler leurs rendements \u201d, a not\u00e9 l'ing\u00e9nieur Moustapha Kigangu de l'IITA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D'ici d\u00e9cembre 2025, le projet a permis la mise en place de 52,5 hectares de champs de production am\u00e9lior\u00e9e, dont 30 hectares de bl\u00e9 et 22,5 hectares de ma\u00efs. Les rendements attendus de ces champs sont de 60 tonnes de bl\u00e9 et 67,5 tonnes de ma\u00efs, correspondant \u00e0 des rendements moyens de 2 tonnes par hectare et de 3 tonnes par hectare, respectivement. Ces gains se traduisent par des revenus potentiellement significatifs : une estimation de 36 000 USD provenant du bl\u00e9 et 33 750 USD provenant du ma\u00efs. Au-del\u00e0 de ces chiffres, le projet a redonn\u00e9 aux agriculteurs confiance en leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 accro\u00eetre leur productivit\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des pratiques simples et \u00e9prouv\u00e9es qui restaurent la fertilit\u00e9 des sols et prot\u00e8gent l'environnement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Les
