Les pratiques r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrices telles que l'agriculture de conservation, les cultures de couverture, la r\u00e9tention des r\u00e9sidus, l'agroforesterie et les amendements organiques sont depuis longtemps reconnues comme des outils pour restaurer la sant\u00e9 des sols et stocker le carbone. Mais la base de preuves en Afrique est rest\u00e9e fragment\u00e9e, dispers\u00e9e entre des essais au champ individuels et des exp\u00e9riences localis\u00e9es, ce qui rend difficile de tirer les conclusions g\u00e9n\u00e9rales et fiables que les march\u00e9s du carbone et la politique climatique exigent.<\/p><p>Cette recherche comble directement cette lacune en synth\u00e9tisant des donn\u00e9es empiriques provenant de tout le continent. Elle cherche \u00e0 quantifier comment diff\u00e9rentes pratiques r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives affectent les stocks de carbone organique du sol dans divers agro\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes africains et \u00e0 identifier quelles combinaisons de pratiques et de conditions environnementales offrent le plus grand potentiel de s\u00e9questration. Les conclusions iront au-del\u00e0 de la science pour la science. L'Analyse du Cycle de Vie est largement utilis\u00e9e pour mesurer l'empreinte environnementale des syst\u00e8mes agricoles, mais elle s'est traditionnellement concentr\u00e9e sur les impacts n\u00e9gatifs, les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre, l'eutrophisation et la consommation d'\u00e9nergie, tout en omettant les services \u00e9cosyst\u00e9miques que g\u00e9n\u00e8rent les pratiques r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratives.<\/p><p>Le cadre harmonis\u00e9 d'ACV en cours d'\u00e9laboration ici comble cette lacune. En int\u00e9grant l'ACV \u00e0 la mod\u00e9lisation des services \u00e9cosyst\u00e9miques, le cadre vise \u00e0 capturer la contribution \u00e9cologique compl\u00e8te des syst\u00e8mes de production r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative : non seulement la s\u00e9questration du carbone du sol, mais aussi les services de purification de l'eau (gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la r\u00e9duction du ruissellement d'azote dans les cours d'eau) et de contr\u00f4le de l'\u00e9rosion des sols. Des mod\u00e8les de processus \u00e9cologiques, y compris le mod\u00e8le de carbone du sol RothC et les mod\u00e8les de livraison des nutriments et des s\u00e9diments InVEST, sont utilis\u00e9s pour simuler comment les choix de gestion agricole se r\u00e9percutent sur les paysages au fil du temps. De mani\u00e8re cruciale, le cadre traduit \u00e9galement ces avantages \u00e9cologiques en valeurs \u00e9conomiques, les reliant \u00e0 la tarification du march\u00e9 du carbone et aux co\u00fbts environnementaux \u00e9vit\u00e9s. Cela cr\u00e9e une base analytique beaucoup plus solide pour d\u00e9fendre l'agriculture r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative dans le cadre des m\u00e9canismes de financement climatique.<\/p><p>Le cadre sera test\u00e9 et appliqu\u00e9 dans quatre pays : le Kenya, le Nigeria, le Ghana et la Colombie.
