Ces plantules saines sont cruciales pour la recherche, la s\u00e9lection et la distribution.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong> Propagation rapide de mat\u00e9riel v\u00e9g\u00e9tal :<\/strong>\nLa culture de tissus permet la production de <em>grand nombre de plantules uniformes<\/em> rapidement et efficacement par rapport \u00e0 la propagation v\u00e9g\u00e9tative conventionnelle, ce qui est particuli\u00e8rement important pour les cultures \u00e0 faible taux de multiplication naturelle de graines ou \u00e0 longs cycles de g\u00e9n\u00e9ration.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong> Conservation et distribution du germoplasme :<\/strong>\nLe laboratoire soutient la conservation du mat\u00e9riel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique en maintenant <em>collectes in vitro<\/em> de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de cultures critiques. Ax\u00e9 sur la fourniture de mat\u00e9riel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique am\u00e9lior\u00e9 de bananes et plantains, d'ignames et de maniocs, ainsi que des technologies associ\u00e9es, le Laboratoire de Culture Tissulaire est important pour les travaux de culture tissulaire (CT) de l'IITA en Afrique centrale.<\/p><p>Le laboratoire sert principalement de point d'entr\u00e9e pour l'introduction de nouveaux hybrides issus des programmes d'am\u00e9lioration du Nig\u00e9ria et d'autres pays. Des stocks plus importants de ces hybrides sont g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par micropropagation en laboratoire en vue de leur \u00e9valuation, s\u00e9lection, conservation et distribution.<\/p><p>Les autres activit\u00e9s de recherche comprennent les travaux sur le manioc et le taro.
