La r\u00e9gion est confront\u00e9e \u00e0 une fr\u00e9quence et une gravit\u00e9 accrues des s\u00e9cheresses, \u00e0 des pr\u00e9cipitations erratiques, \u00e0 un raccourcissement des saisons de croissance et au stress thermique. Les impacts du changement et de la variabilit\u00e9 climatiques sont exacerb\u00e9s par des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies fr\u00e9quentes de ravageurs et de maladies, une pression d\u00e9mographique accrue qui conduit \u00e0 une exploitation non durable des ressources naturelles, et des conflits. Le programme R\u00e9silience et Adaptation au Climat (RSA) de l'IITA applique une approche multiforme pour promouvoir des pratiques agricoles et de gestion des ressources naturelles durables afin d'att\u00e9nuer le changement climatique et de s'y adapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le programme RCA est dispens\u00e9 par les interventions suivantes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>D\u00e9ploiement \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de cultures tol\u00e9rantes \u00e0 de multiples stress : Nous promouvons l'adoption \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle de vari\u00e9t\u00e9s de cultures tol\u00e9rantes \u00e0 de multiples stress (s\u00e9cheresses, chaleur, ravageurs et maladies).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outils de conseil num\u00e9rique, syst\u00e8mes d'alerte pr\u00e9coce et services d'information climatique : Nous g\u00e9n\u00e9rons et diffusons des services de conseil num\u00e9rique personnalis\u00e9s, fond\u00e9s sur des donn\u00e9es probantes et exploitables, \u00e0 l'intention des petits exploitants agricoles afin de promouvoir une agriculture intelligente face au climat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mesure de la r\u00e9silience climatique : Nous utilisons des donn\u00e9es issues d'enqu\u00eates aupr\u00e8s des m\u00e9nages et de plateformes de t\u00e9l\u00e9d\u00e9tection pour mesurer la r\u00e9silience des m\u00e9nages agricoles et des paysages au changement et \u00e0 la variabilit\u00e9 climatiques. Nous appliquons \u00e9galement l'apprentissage automatique et des mod\u00e8les bas\u00e9s sur les processus pour \u00e9valuer les moteurs des rendements des cultures et de l'utilisation des terres dans les agro\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes. Les connaissances g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par ces mod\u00e8les guident le d\u00e9veloppement de politiques sp\u00e9cifiques au contexte en mati\u00e8re de gestion durable des terres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Objectifs du projet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le programme R\u00e9silience et Adaptation au Changement Climatique (RSA) de l'IITA applique une approche multidimensionnelle pour promouvoir des pratiques de gestion durable de l'agriculture et des ressources naturelles afin d'att\u00e9nuer les effets du changement climatique et de s'y adapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Climate change and variability pose a serious challenge to agricultural development in East Africa.
