Rudolph Shirima<\/b>, a Tanzanian national, is a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Plant Virologist based in IITA Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, working on the\u00a0Near-field Communication-enabled Digital in-field Molecular Diagnostics\u00a0Project<\/i>. Rudolph holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from the Interuniversity Program Molecular Biology (IPMB; VLIR-UOS, Master Degree Scholarships) – Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education [Chemistry and Biology] degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shirima completed his Ph.D. at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. His PhD focused on\u00a0plant-virus-vector interactions<\/span><\/i>\u00a0using the cassava brown streak disease pathosystem.
