Urcil Kenfack Essougong, a Cameroonian, based in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Science for scaling and impact in the CocoaSoils and AICCRA projects. He holds an Erasmus International MSc in Rural Development (2018, with great distinction) from Ghent University (Belgium), with mobility stays at Agrocampus-Ouest (France), Nanjing Agricultural University (China) and the Slovak University of Agriculture (Slovakia); and a Master of Engineering (“Ingenieur Agronome”) in Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology (2015, with great distinction) from Dschang University, Cameroon.<\/p>\n\n
He completed his PhD (2023) at Wageningen University, Netherlands. Hosted by IITA Cameroon as a Graduate Research Fellow in the CocoaSoils Programme, his PhD focused on “Analysing the current constraints and effectiveness of service delivery to achieve sustainable cocoa intensification in Cameroon”.<\/p>\n\n
He is interested in interdisciplinary and empirical research related to agricultural innovation systems, sustainable (agricultural) development, rural economy and development, agricultural value chains analysis, R&D impact evaluation, and MEAL among others. Previously, he worked as an M&E officer for a development NGO and carried out research and technical consultancy for organisations such as Agro-Sans Fronti\u00e8res Cameroun, the World Agroforestry Centre (CIFOR-ICRAF), Wageningen Economic Research Centre, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
