Citizen H2D3 develops a data-rich system to support decision-making on food security actions in Rwanda by assessing changes in diet quality at various locations and over time. The system will leverage on the principles of citizen science and digital tools to provide evidence-driven and robust insights about the dynamics of diet quality with the aim of empowering decision makers who are keen to formulate and implement evidence-based policies and interventions.

Citizen H2D3 will enable stakeholders to establish linkages between diets and environmental (e.g. climatic, physical, agro-ecological) and socio-economic (e.g. gender, income, assets etc) covariates. The project will also serve as a learning platform for generating protocols and best practices for deriving citizen-driven data collection methods in the diet and nutrition domains for embedding in activities of next and end users of Citizen-H2D3.
